24th July 2008 The new Blackthorn Band album The River That Runs Below will be released on 5th August 2008. The launch party will take place on 29th July at the Gibson Guitar Centre, in London.

24th July 2008 BBC Young folk award finalist Dogan Mehmet signs for Hobgoblin Records. An EP entitled "EP Unlimited" has been released for sale this summer while the debut album is being recorded

24th July 2008 Phil Hardy the maker of the famous low whitles used by most celting whistle player, has signed with Hobgoblin reocrd and released an album of his best low whistle tracks entitledRevisited. It is to be released by Proper Music Distribution on September 1st 2008.

26th October 2007 The Blabbermouth Album My Dancing Heart will be released on 3rd December 2007. The launch night will take place on 19th November at The Fly in London, WC1A. Tickets are £5, and are available from here

25th September 2007 Boldwood's album "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" will be released on November 5th after a very successful launch gig at Cecil Sharp House, Camden in September. Blabbermouth's album is being manufactured now for a November release.

3rd August 2007 Two new artists sign with Hobgoblin Records. Boldwood ("cracking to dance to too... a shining example of English music" and Blabbermouth the voice of an angel.. an original musical experience you'll not forget in a hurry.

12th March 2007 Three Albums Launched Spring 2007
On 22nd Jan we launched The Rohan Theatre Band - Perfect World HOBCD1005, release date Feb 26th 2007. Last month on 26th Feb we launched Philippe Barnes & Tom Phelan - Madrid Sessions HOBCD1003 and it was released Mar 12th 2007. All Jigged Out - Wish Hill HOBCD1004 is scheduled for a launch party on 17th April and release on the 7th May.
Blackthorn are currently in the studio working on the new album which is expected to be released in the Autumn.

1st January 2007 Hobgoblin Records have appointed Proper Distribution to handle UK dealer sales for the label.

Candela are still in the studio working on their album, and recording sessions are booked up for Rocas and Blackthorn this winter.

26th October 2005 Hobgoblin launched the expansion of their record label Hobgoblin Records at the WOMEX exhibition in Gateshead. To showcase the excellent music on offer, they have put out a 14 track showcase sampler including tracks from all 8 Hobgobin artists.

Originally a vehicle for Hobgoblin's 25th anniversary CD release and further 2 releases by Hobgoblin founder Pete McClelland's bands Blackthorn and Thingumajig, the Label has now signed five further artists. They will release new CD albums from each of them, together with Blackthorn's second album, over the next few months.

The label has a remit to cover acoustic roots, ethnic and traditional folk music from British based artists, from Jazz to Latin to Folk and beyond
