The Rohan Theatre Band
Likened to Tom Waits and Nik Cave, this is a dark and sometimes moving album, but as it says on their myspace page - "Prepare to be offended!"
Rohan Kriwaczek has achieved international fame this week as "The Englishman who defrauded his publisher" with the reliase of the top selling book "An Incomplete History of the Art of the Funerary Violin" published by Duckworths this month in the UK.
Violinist, clarinetist and bagpipe player Rohan Kriwaczek showed an early interest in music and started composing when he was seven. As a teenager he studied with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Oliver Knussen and Judith Wier before taking degrees at the University of Sussex and the Royal Academy of Music.
Since graduating Rohan has written numerous scores for TV, radio and the theatre alongside developing a career performing E. European, Middle Eastern and Jewish folk music. His classical music bears witness to these interests, and to his award winning experiments in multimedia radio with producer Lance Dann.
